Deirdre, I can say from experience that going to Ashley’s class and “not being able to keep up” isn’t even a thing! She knows there are all levels coming and she makes you feel welcome! You’re doing great!!

Get the Wi-Fi password at the rink. I also use a blue tooth headband. So I can hear music and direction in the videos but also hear my surroundings for skating safety/awareness etc.

Today I worked with a coach to re-learn how to do a lutz. I for sure flutzed my whole skating career. It was so joyful and life giving to try, listen to the direction, then try again. I felt so powerful!

Ashley Wagner it took me a minute to find the resources document! I did the first half of the strut skate this morning and am uploading a video now! @samstig on IG. I’ll tag skate and. Sculpt :)

Just keep going! I get it. It’s a lot. But even if you just get on the ice for half a session each time it builds. Also, if you keep reminding yourself that your joy and your skating matters, it really does help!!

If anyone here is in the Hartford Area of CT - I have found that Champions Skating Center in Cromwell has tons of free skate time. If you have a flexible schedule and can go mid-day during the week there is almost no one there! Twice this week I was one of 4 or less on the ice.

Hell yeah! That’s so hard to return from. Remember : you WILL gain back your core strength. Even if your core doesn’t look like it used to it can still be just as strong. Maybe even stronger.Â
